Camping at Leo Carrillo....

Bill and I went camping at Leo Carrillo this past weekend. It was really nice to have 3 whole days with just the two of us. Bill had his shift change and i was lucky enough to have my Saturday shift covered. So off we went.... when we got to the camp grounds the place was pretty much full. We had our choice of 4 campsites. the 1st one being the best we took it, little did i know at the time but this one was on a slope.....Yes every night there's bill sleeping soundly and I'm sliding off the dang air mattress like every hour. lets just say i was a little cranky! But it gets better..... on our second night those cute adorable creatures we call squirrels decided to chew though our tent. yes our brand new tents now has a hole! I can't blame the little guys, it was my fault, we were going down to the bathrooms so i put a bag of food inside thinking we'll be gone like 10 mins. those guys are quick by the time we got back the damage had be done. oh well just one more thing added to the list to fix before our camping trip in June.

Well we had some fun trying to get the fire started the 1st night. Bill having been a boy scout made the classic tee pee. we collected kindling put that in the middle added some newspaper and threw in a match, it started but then soon started to die out. so bill goes added more kindling which works the fire picks up again, at this point the wood starts to catch on fire i tell bill stop adding stuff, does he listen NO... he keeps added more things and knocks over the tee pee and out goes the fire, mind you we do this little dance about 2 more times before bill listens and leaves the fire alone. well from this event the next morning we head out to the little store and bill picks up some lighter fluid.

Later the day we head out to the beach (which is just on the other side of pch) it's cold and looking like it's going to rain, we climb up some rocks and take picture and watch the surfers. It was a very peaceful afternoon. we got back to camp made lunch and then took a walk around the campgrounds (the whole time I'm thinking i like this site better no wait this one) so as we walk I'm taking metal notes of the campsite number just in case we come back here, I'm not going to be stuck and a slope again!

Yah!!!! my bedroom is done!

Bill and I for christmas thought we should upgrade our bed from a full... (yes that's right a full 2 years of marriage sleeping on a full) to a queen. we got our bed just after the new year and I've been searching for the perfect linens for our new bed and new furniture! The time has come and i've got it all done. I've very excited because one i love it and two i got it all on sale!!! what is better than that....NOTHING!

It's time to play catch up...

Well Bill and i decided to start a little project for our day off... we gutted our tiny backyard and got it prepped and ready for sod to be laid down, now i have to give credit where credit is due.... Bill really did all the hard labor and he has the blisters to show for it, but i was there cheering him on! Once the soil, and top soil were ready we headed over to home depot and got us some grown grass!!! (sod) it took most of the day but we got it done and it looks great! we can't wait to have some good old BBQ's in our new backyard this summer!

well after the backyard project Bill and I had a date night, it was so much fun. We started out by going to dinner at Finbars in metro point, then we headed over to Color Me Mine and made a little something to put in our new backyard, and we ended the night with a movie. Over all it was a wonderful but busy week!
this was the little guy we made. we painted symbols on his back that represented Bill and I. It was really fun, some of the symbols on him are: sheriff star, shears, our wedding date, a crab(for bill) and GET 1 (my job)
