My close friend Jacky and her son Karson came to Disneyland with us. The boys didn't hit it off right away but by the end of the day they were two cute lil buddies.  

 

BFOTB: Bachelorette Party

When your life long best friend who's truly your unbiological sister gets engaged and asks you to be her Maid of Honor.... there are 2 big and important events, that now become your responsibility... the first being the BACHELORETTE party...

Off to VEGAS we went.

We stayed in a suite at NewYork NewYork Hotel & Casino.

It was a small group of us which made it perfect. We gambled, drank, danced and had a great time. we even spent a few hours in the room playing a very competitive game of "Tong" its a card game much like solitaire but played against other people. As the saying goes... "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"

Road Trip: Dropping Nick off at school

Aiden and I went with my parents to drop my brother Nick off at BYU . I was totally amazed at how well Aiden did on the 9 hour road trip. He slept for some of the ride but the majority of it he watched his favorite disney movies on his little portable DVD player.  He was such a little trooper, we hardly had to stop, The last 30mins were the most difficult. I felt like he could sense we were almost there.

After we got to Provo and dropped off all of Nick's things, we went out to dinner to Chili's then headed to the hotel room were we all passed out aiden included. He slept right next to me in the bed with no problems at all.

 

I'm going to miss Nick a lot, especially our chats while we carpooled to work and our lunch dates.

 

 

 

 

OC Fair 2012

We all know how much mia LOVES the oc fair.... And yes we went twice this year. First Jenny Aiden and I went, and the second time was with my grade-school friend Jennifer and her cute little family, and my "weekend sister" Paige!

We didn't ride any rides (totally bummed about that) with two little kids it makes it kind of hard to do. We ended up eating mucho fair food!

 

as always Bill won a stuff animal this year it was a blue dog for aiden, he loved it, didn't let if out of his sight the whole night!

Pool Party

Amy and Jackson came into town to visit this weekend. We ended up at her parent's house and had a great bbq/pool party. It was Aiden's first time in the pool and i do believe we have a little fish/swimmer on our hands. I suppose swimming lessons this summer would be a good idea.

It's always so great to visit with Amy and see little Jackson when they come to visit. We wish they lived closer! hint hint amy :0)



Lets Go Lakers

For Christmas my parents got Bill and I tickets to a LA Lakers Game. It just so happened to fall on the weekend of my birthday. They played a great game and won, and because the opposing team didn't score over 100pts we got Jack-In-The-Box Taco coupons yay!

At the game Bill texted "happy birthday Mia" and it came up on the jumbo screen... pretty sweet i think. We had great seats and it was a very fun date night thanks to my parents who got us the tickets and who were willing to babysit Aiden.

 

OC FAIR

Bill and I went on a double date with my friend Nikki and her boyfriend Patrick.... to my favorite place, THE OC FAIR!!!

I don't know what it is about the fair but I sure do love it! The rides (which I couldn't enjoy this year because of the "bean") the food, man was it yummy this year, the games (bill won our baby it's first stuff animal) and all around the atmosphere. It's just so much fun how could anyone not love the fair?!?

Bill, Joey and I went to see Comedian Bill Burr at the Irvine Improv... Can we just agree that he is one of the funniest guys I've ever seen! Oh my gosh he had me laughing the WHOLE time, that doesn't happen to often for me.

After the show we waited in line to meet him and get a picture with him. I had him sign my souvenir glass and the DVD we bought from him. What a nice guy too!

Broken Hand....again

It's never a good sign if you get a call at 4am from your husband telling you he's at the hospital. Last night Bill broke his hand at work. Everything is going to be ok, they say his hand should heal in about 6 weeks, and no surgery will be needed. Now this isn't the first time he's broken bones at work. About 18 months ago he broke his pinky on the same hand. I only want to know.... Will he ever learn???

Firing Line

Today Bill took me and family shooting, the special occasion was for Jenny's first time.

At first i think she was a little scared but by the end she loved it! Bill started her off with a 45 cal 1911 Para Ordnance which might have been a little too strong for a first-timer, she than shot a 9mm and i think that was just right for her. Not only did Jenny have a great time, my brother Gerry had a blast. I didn't think we would pull him away from the shooting range.

all-n-all the night was a success and the whole family had a really great and safe time shooting!

Blood Donor?

 This Past week I went and had some blood work done. Just annual routine check-up... I hate getting my blood drawn because I always walk out of there looking like a "pin cushion" It's not the Phlebotomists fault, I just have very tiny veins that are hard to find.

I have had one phlebotomist who actually got my vein on the first try, it was taken from my forearm but needless to say it was on the first try!

This week I wasn't so lucky. I went through 3 people before anyone actually hit a vein, and I was poked at least 16 times (i lost count after that) it took them 2.5 hours to draw 9 vials of blood. I was trooper and got it done. I didn't want to come back the next day because I had to fast for some of the tests.

I guess it's safe to say I won't be donating Blood anytime soon. Sorry Red Cross. I just don't think my little arms could take it.

where's the silver lining???

Last month i was involved in a 7 car accident on the freeway... luckily no one was seriously injured, the same can not be said for my VW Golf. It was TOTALLED

I've had my 2000 Golf for almost 10 years and it's been paid off for the last 4 years, not having a car payment is something i REALLY enjoy.

Bill and i have been talking about getting me a new car for the past few months, but i kept saying "Bill, honey i know i need a new one, but i think i could get at least another year out of it."

well once we heard that my car was totalled we contemplated whether to hold off and just drive our other car(s) or bite the bullet and buy a new one. I started looking but every day i would find a new car i liked and the very next day list the many many reasons why i no longer wanted that specific type.

car shopping is kind of a headache so i was settling on the fact i would be driving his truck for the next couple of months......

Happy Early birthday to ME!!! I love love love this car. I've always had VW's and i was really leaning towards getting a DODGE/JEEP/CHRYSLER because of where i work, but this beauty was just taken in on trade! I guess it was meant to be!

Well it turns out the boys really did setup a mystery date. We met up at the Riverside Mission Inn and had appetizers and drinks following that we headed over to a cute little building, once inside i figured it out! This "mystery" date was actually a who'd done it... Figure out the killer MYSTERY DINNER!

Awhile ago I had Hinted to Bill that I've always wanted to go to one of these, I guess he listens! It all begins the moment you step into the restaurant — The characters run the joint, and you, the audience, become part of the scene. The story itself is played out in scenes as you sit back and enjoy a visual feast of authentic costuming, sets and live period music(ours was 1920s). Between each scene of the mystery the same cast of characters serve you dinner… one course at a time. This is your chance to ask them questions, assume your own character and try and solve the mystery. I was the only one at our table who figured out the killer!

They play and dinner was absolutely wonderful and very enjoyable. I think we all had a really good time, after all, our table was known as the "rowdy" table! If you get the chance be sure to check these guys out!

Bill and I had a date night tonight. We went out to dinner to a Japanese restaurant where you cook your own food at the table. It's not only affordable but also very delicious. We tried a few different items tonight and had one of their new desserts, Banana with choc. syrup and vanilla ice cream. After dinner we went out to the movies and saw No Strings Attached. The movie was a cute "chick flick" that I enjoyed and Bill tolerated.

Saturday night Bill & I  double dated with David & Kelly. We got tickets to see the comedian Kevin Nealon best know roles.. weekend update on "SNL" and Doug on HBO'S "Weeds" at the Brea Improv.


we started the evening with dinner at The YardHouse, it was very delicious and then continued the evening watching the great stand-up comedy of Kevin and a few other very funny guys. After the show we were able to purchase Kevin's book and get a picture with him. It was a very fun evening full of laughs!

The 3 of us again...

It's been a long time over due, but the best of hair school has done it again! Kelly, Tricia and I meet up at Orange Circle to have Brunch at The Filling Station. We ate, talked, laughed and just caught up with each other and the things going on in our lives. I love these two woman so much, friendships that will last a life time and wonderful memories shared while getting our cosmetology licences'. I'm Lucky to call these girls my friends and that we've stayed so close over the years!

Today Bill and I had a lunch date with some of our favorite ppl, David & Kelly and their two little "frogs" Lucy and Chuck. We met up at Ruby's downtown Huntington at the end of the pier. It was so much fun getting to spend time with them. After lunch we walked the pier took some pictures and then walked main street just window shoppping. It was a wonderful afternoon!
