Girls Movie Night....

I have to dedicate this blog to Kim H.

I was really wanting to get out last night after working a 12+ hour day. So i basically dragged Kim out of her bed to go see this movie with me(a 10:10pm showing). She was such a great sport!

We get to the movie theater a little early so we decide to grab some golden spoon. As we sit and eat our frozen yogurt we look at the time and realize our movie started about 5 mins ago.

we book it out of golden spoon and head right into theater #1 (after all that's where the ticket taker directed us to go) as kim and i are sitting there watching the previews thanking our lucky stars we made it in time.

last preview ends and then the shock hits us.... opening scene is Jim Carry holding his cell phone...is this another preview???? Nope...playing in Theater #1 is "Yes Man" our movie "marley & me" is playing in theater #5 which by this time has been playing for about 20-25 mins.

Kim and I get up walk out and start laughing... i mean really who walks into the wrong theater, and thinks wow this place is running late... anyway we find the right theater sneak in and take our seats.

Can i just say...... WOW.... that was such a sad, but good movie. Not at all what i expected. Also along those lines i'm pretty impressed with Jennifer Aniston, i've never been a big fan of hers, but with this movie and "he's just not that into you" she's growing on me.

All i can say is THANK YOU KIM from saving me from a long hectic day and a lonely movie experience. I Had the best time last night!

Snow Summit Part ll

Once again Bill and I made it up to the mountains! we left for big bear on Monday night.

After we checked into our fancy hotel (motel 6) we headed off to grab some dinner. (i swear the whole town closes at sun-down) We found this cute little Italian place called Paoli's. There we enjoyed antipasto salad and a pizza. (we figured we splurge since we were going to go snowboarding in the morning) i also enjoyed a very large cup of hot chocolate...

We headed back to the motel after dinner, were we watched some tv and i finished knitted my scarf (which i matched to my snow boarding jacket and pants... yah i know ridiculous) Once i was done with that we hit the hay. Game plan for tomorrow, wake up grab breakfast and be on the slopes by 8:30.....

Lets just say tuesday didn't go as planned.....

yes we woke up in time, but with neither of us sleeping really well that night before, i waking up a couple of times, bill tossing and turning ALL night long, we decided it best to catch 45 more mins. By the time bill and i were up and showered and ready to go.... it was already 10am. We headed out to grab a quick breakfast at Ihop. As we drove to the slopes we assessed the situation and came up with a NEW game plan.

-it was already almost noon
-we still had to go and rent my board/boots
-it was 60 degrees out = slushy snow

we decided to just skip out on snowboarding this trip and instead walk about the village then head home.

it was a fun trip despite not actually making onto the slopes (the reason we came in the first place) but now we have another reason to head back, after all we need to find out if that wonderful interesting lesson ever paid off, lastly i got some really good photos this trip!

Dinner and a Movie

Bill and I went out to dinner (cpk) and a movie (Taken) tonight. Dinner was delicious as always and the movie was amazing!

Few weeks ago when my brother Gerry was down from school he told me i should go see Taken. He said it was a really good movie and something i would really enjoy...... Well he was right. Bill and i both agree it was probably one of the better movies we've seen in a long time.

I was sitting at the edge of my seat the entire movie and bill was laughing at me because i kept saying things like..." he needs to get to the bridge" or "get a gun, get a gun" needless to say i was very into the movie. half way though i turned to bill and said this was one we HAVE to buy on DVD when it comes out!

here is the synopsis: The seventeen year-old Kim is the pride and joy of her father, the retired agent Bryan Mills that left the secret service to stay near Kim in California. Kim lives with her mother Lenore and her wealthy stepfather Stuart; she convinces the reluctant Bryan to sign an authorization to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda. When they arrive, they share a cab with the stranger Peter and Amanda tells to him that they are alone in Paris. When Bryan succeeds in contacting his daughter, she tells that criminals have just break in the spot and they are kidnapped by an Albanese gang of human trafficking. Bryan promises in the phone to kill the kidnapper of his daughter and immediately travels to Paris to find Kim and chase the criminals.

Snow Summit

Bill, Lea (my BFF) and I decided to make our way up to big bear mountain to do a little snowboarding. The trip started out pretty good but we did run into some trouble. First off Snow tire chains/cables were required. We didn't have any, but we thought we can just pick some up once we get closer to the mountain.
We did get some snow cables for Bill's truck, unfortunately his raised truck and oversize tires with cables on doesn't have enough clearance in the wheel well so we could only drive 14 mph or else we would hear this horrible knocking noise..... later we find out that the cables totally ate away at the inside of the wheel well. Because of the slow state in which we had to travel plus the snowing it took us about an extra 2 hours to get up the mountain.
Once we made it to the mountain and brought our lift tickets the rest of the day was smooth sailing! WE had a great time on the runs. (i got a little irritated because i kept falling and had a hard time getting back up) Half way through the day i did take lessons. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!!!!
my instructor had to be the BIGGEST pothead I've ever met. He didn't teach us very much (i left the class knowing what i already knew and still lost on the stuff i was already lost about) He was funny, and he kept telling us stories about how great of a snowboarder he is. At least i did learn the fundamentals... so we'll see if that helps me out next week when we go back!
All-in-all the trip was really great...cold but great.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm one lucky girl.... My sweet Husband planned a wonderful valentine's day for me. He sent me my very first dozen RED roses to my work, (which didn't get delievered till i was walking out to my car at the end of my shift). Once i got home after a long day, he treated me to a nice massage...he really does know the way to my heart!

After the great massage and a quick nap, I headed over to my parents where my little sister Elise helped me curl my hair and get ready for dinner.

Bill and my Dad took me and my Mom out to dinner at the The Melting Pot. That truly was a speacial treat. I got to spend the most romantic evening with my favorite people at the most romantic restaurant!

Thank you honey for making my Valentine's day so special. I love you William!!!
XOXOXO
