Halloween 2013

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays!
this year we decided to dress up as a family.

DOCTOR WHO

was our theme and it couldn't have been more perfect. I was companion "ROSE TYLER" Bill was companion "JACK HARKNESS" my sister Nette was "THE DOCTOR" (david tennant aka 10th doctor) and little Aiden was the "TARDIS".

I made his costume with my sister and it was truly a fun experience. I can't say I'll make his every year, but once in awhile I think it would be fun.

This year we were invited to go trick-or-treating with our good friends Corey, Laura, and Nate in their neighborhood. We had dinner first and then it was off to walk door to door and acquire ALOT of candy for an almost 2 yr old. Aiden had so much and walked most of the block himself. We even got him to say trick or treat a few times!

Feeling Crafty?

For my parents anniversary my Dad got my Mom a Cricut. So this past Saturday Me and my mom put it to good use.

We made a sign for my house "Hughes est. 2006" and also some baby onesies. I love doing crafts with my mom. She is just so much fun to hang out with.

LOVE...

There is nothing in the world that compares to LOVE.

Tonight my Mom & Dad came over to hang out with me and also so that i could give my mom the "spa" treatment. I Have to say the best feeling in the world is seeing my mom's face after I've finished coloring/cutting her hair and waxing her legs.

You know when someone just feels beautiful... well I'm the lucky one who gets to give that gift to my Mom. It just makes me so happy and I'm all warm and fuzzy inside knowing I've made someone feel special and beautiful. It truly is a wonderful feeling!

***I didn't get a chance to take pictures of my mom's new do. Tomorrow i will and then I'll post them***

FHE

Family Home Evening...

For Enrichment Night at church our project was to make a "F"amily "H"ome "E"vening Board, to use at home with our families. Each family member is responsible for one of the following:
Prayer
Song
Scripture
Lesson
Activity
Treat
at the end of family home evening every persons' marker will rotate to the next responsibility for the upcoming week.

We painted the boards and added all the words at the activity but then my mom and i ran over to Michaels to pick up these little guys.

I colored each one by hand using color pencils no less. these will be used as the "markers" for the family. (i will print each family members name on the back once Bill and I decide to start a family)

Here i laid them out to see if it all went good together. I think I kind of like it!
(of course Bill will be the Crab... after all that is his nickname...) I myself can't choose between the Seahorse or the Turtle... what do you think???

And here is the end project mounted on the wall! I'm super happy with the way it worked out. I ran into a little bit of trouble with finding the perfect hooks. But in the end i ended up using the brass hooks they gave us and spray painting them a metallic black.

Aprons!

This is the Cutest Apron i have EVER seen!

My mom, sister and i went to knotts berry farm this past saturday, to do some wedding stuff and i came upon this.....

CupCake Apron

I had to buy it. ever since Callie blogged about aprons i've been wanting a really cute one, so i thought i should just make one. me and my mom sew together all the time and need projects.

well after finding this little gem, i no longer have to sew one myself (but i'm sure i still will) after all Bill does do most of the cooking... he needs one, he's so messy in the kithen! That's what makes him such a great cook!

it's time for you all to get Crafty!

well i was thinking.... i love to make home made cards and the supplier for my fix is my best friend lani.. but the company we buy our stamps, ink paper etc from is...
STAMPIN' UP!
so i was thinking that i should have a stampin up party with all my close family & friends and anyone else that would wish to come.
here is what you do at a stampin up party. the demonstrator has 2 projects to do, usually cards, so everyone gets to make a couple of projects using the stampin up supplies. after we've finished making the projects there is opportunity for those of you that wish to purchase some supplies for their own at home projects can, the catalog is amazing there is so much stuff to choose from! the best part is everyone gets to walk away with someting and you didn't have to buy it! stampin up is so easy, and they can be used for so many more things than just cards, scrapbooking recipe books, and photo frames just to name a few! and they make it easy for you because everything is coordinated to ink, stamps, paper, you name it they got it coordinating.
so i guess if anyone is interested in participating in a stampin up party with me let me know and i'll get the invite out to you!

She's crafty!

Front, inside,back
Well... tonight i went to my good friend Lani's house. I was under the impression that i would be watching Forces of Nature, whilce she worked on the news letter for the Atv club she is in, but instead i got to dive into the world of making some homemade cards! It started out a little rough, you see i wasn't sure what kind of card i should make and which stamps and color scheme i shoud use. One i got that all figured out it was actually a lot of fun and i look forward to spending another late night making cards very soon in the future! Here is a little something i dreamed up!
Also my cute little Fox man was working and he stopped by to say hello, see what trouble i was getting into, and to give the old lady a smooch on the lips
